HARBOUR RIDE
Location services
Maps and place search
When Google Maps is connected, Harbour Ride sends your typed city or address search, selected place identifiers and route endpoints to Google to return suggestions, maps and driving estimates. Harbour Ride does not request your device’s current location or track vehicles in the background.
Using these Google Maps features is subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service, incorporated into these location-service terms, and the Google Privacy Policy.
Ride information
When you post a ride, its city names, meeting-point text, selected place identifiers and trip times are saved with the ride in Supabase. Pickup and drop-off details appear in ride listings. Choose a public meeting point if you do not want to publish a home address. Google coordinates and route geometry are retrieved for the current view rather than stored as a permanent location cache.
Driving times and distances are estimates. Drivers confirm the journey, local departure and arrival times, meeting points and seat contribution before posting. Fuel and carbon calculations are estimates based on the entered assumptions.
Request limits
Harbour Ride uses a keyed hash of the request’s network address to limit location requests. The raw address is not stored in this request-limit table; old counters are removed as requests are processed. Google and hosting services process network information under their own policies.
